Summertime

The weather this summer has been quite mixed so far. Some days are cold and wet and some are simply sunny and gorgeous. On one of those days I went into our front yard to watch the bees and bumblebees enjoying the lavender.

Milestones: 2000

Yesterday I reached another milestone at Fotolia. The picture below marks the 2000th download. I took it last summer in our garden. Mom picked the blackberries and made delicious jam from it.

From the archives: Summer sunset

I was browsing my old files recently and got back to a CD backup from 2004 which contained this image. It was taken in the very hot summer of 2003 during a stunning sunset at the Baltic Sea. The picture was taken with my old analogue Canon Rebel and I believe my old 70-210mm lens on simple film (not even a slide...). But looking at it again brings back memories of that moment.

Milestones: 500

Things have been running slowly over here. I am busy with my main job, which leaves little time for photography. However, a few days ago I had some time to shoot some new images and upload them. The new images finally pushed my Fotolia portfolio over 500 images. Here are two of the latest images.
